Fred H. Pargeon, Board Chairman
Active Member 3/98 to 8/98

Mr. Pargeon began his career as a sales engineer. Through a series of career moves, he came to lead the national sales and marketing team at Globe Ticket Company. He then founded and served for eighteen years as President of Label Corporation of America. After retiring from his business, Mr. Pargeon became involved in the start-up of an Internet Micro-Portal Company. He then joined yet another Internet start up that provides an e-business capability for the chemical industry. He is now retired and actively involved with the restoration of an historic home.


Frank D. Conover, Vice Chairman - Operations
Active Member 12/97 to 3/98, 1/95 to 12/95

Mr. Conover's background includes Technical Management within the Defense Industry. Most of his career was in Washington, DC as owner of a Defense Consulting firm. He is currently involved in International Programs with Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics & Surveillance Systems - Surface Systems, Moorestown, NJ.


Joseph L. Ramsay, Director, Secretary
Active Member 10/98 to 6/99

Mr. Ramsay's background includes program and financial management of the Mortgage Revenue Bond Programs of the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Philadelphia. He is currently with the Federal Housing Administration within the Department of Housing and Urban Development.


George McNamara, Vice President-Alumni Association

Mr. McNamara has more than 30 years experience primarily in the area of banking and finance. He is currently the Director of Publicity for the Gormley Furlong Zelenka partnership at Janney Montgomery Scott, LLC.


William Scarborough, Chairman, Ways and Means Committee
Active Member 10/98 to 6/99

Mr. Scarborough is an attorney and General Counsel for a management-consulting firm.


Murray Dodge, Director, emeritus
Active Member 1970 to 1971

Mr. Dodge began his career as a computer system programmer for Michigan Bell Telephone Company in 1956. Since then he has been a System Manager for Drexel, Harriman, Ripley in 1962 and President of two subsidiaries of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange in 1971. He then became a fundraiser for the Haverford School in 1984, and continues that work during his current retirement.


Al Geddis, Director
Active Member 2/99 to 10/99

Mr. Geddis' background is in the line and staff management of multiple support operations in both the for-profit and not-for-profit market sectors. He is currently engaged in managing and developing revenue and cost containment programs for one of the largest charter schools in Pennsylvania.


Deborah Oxman, Director

Ms. Oxman is a Human Resources professional and Coach with more than twenty years experience providing leadership, consulting, coaching and counseling to all levels within organizations. She has extensive experience working with major organizations, non-profits, and start-up companies. Before starting Oxman Associates. Inc., she worked in human resources management capacities at PSFS/Meritor Savings Bank, Advanta Corporation and 4anything.com, where is built the Human Resources function from scratch. She has facilitated numerous career transition-training workshops to out-placed staff for all sized organizations. She currently provides career transition coaching for people all over the country. She serves on the Board of Directors and is a frequent speaker of Management in Transition. She also serves on the board of the Woman's Resource Center, a non-profit serving women in crises.


James H. Rhodes, Director

James H. Rhodes is the Director of Legislative Policy and Communications for Independence Blue Cross (IBC) of Philadelphia. Prior to joining IBC,Jim served as a confidential aide to the Camden County (New Jersey) Board of Freeholders. Jim is active in many professional and community organizations. He is a member of the New Jersey Mandated Health Benefits Advisory Commission and the Camden County Workforce Investment Board (WIB). He is also a board member of the Larc School for disabled children in Bellmawr, New Jersey. Jim is a graduate of Rutgers University-Camden and is the current President of the Rutgers University-Camden Alumni Association.


Ronald Gilg, Director

Ronald Gilg is currently a Director of Human Resources for Independence Blue Cross in Philadelphia. Prior to joining IBC, Mr.Gilg had worked for several local banking institutions. Ron received his masters degree from Temple University and has a Bachelors degree from LaSalle University. Ron is currently also an active Board Member for the United Way HR Steering Committee and resides with his family in Montgomery County.


Sandy Smith, Director

Sandy Smith has more than two decades' experience in journalism and public relations. He was part of the team that launched the Penn Current, the faculty/staff newspaper at the University of Pennsylvania, in 1998 and served as its managing editor from 2000 to 2004. His articles have appeared in several publications, including The Philadephia Inquirer, the Philadelphia Gay News and the Welcomat (now Philadelphia Weekly). He is currently a Content Manager at JP Morgan Chase in Wilmington, Del., and a contributor to The Inquirer, the Philadelphia CityPaper and Philadelphia Style magazine.
